Kendall Steir

Public Relations Director

Kendall Stier is a transfer student from Saddleback College, She was on the speech and debate team and competed in Persuasive Speaking. Her topic was concerned with the practice of hiring non-disabled actors to perform as disabled characters. She argued that this practice encourages negative stereotypes about the disabled community, consequently affecting those with and without disabilities. She provided examples of common stigmas displayed in American film and television. Additionally, she interviewed a Diversity Equity and Inclusion Director and got her perspective on why entertainment companies are hesitant to create content surrounding the disabled community. The speech ultimately earned silver at the National Online Forensics Tournament.

Her research compelled her to study Entertainment and Tourism at California State University, Fullerton. Where she joined the associated club as a member in 2022, and as the Public Relations Director in 2023. Her experiences at the Entertainment and Tourism Club have allowed her to make invaluable connections across both industries. She considers joining the Entertainment and Tourism Club as a great professional investment. Outside of school, she enjoys watching Saturday morning cartoons and having coffee with friends.
