Chrissy Washington
Public Relations Director
Chrissy is a third year student studying Communications with an emphasis in Journalism and a minor in African American Studies. They joined ETC as a member in Spring 2025 after transferring to Cal State Fullerton from Santa Monica College. During their time there, Chrissy was a staff writer for The Corsair, the student-run publication on campus, and also worked as a Marketing Intern for Fearless Records (they love PTV and Movements!!). Before transferring, Chrissy received their AA in Multimedia Journalism from SMC.
Chrissy has been very involved on campus as a new transfer student, and is excited to do as much as possible! During Summer 2024, Chrissy started as the External Communications Director for the Black Student Union at CSUF. With BSU, they manage social media content, schedule posts, and organize events with other clubs and organizations
Most notably, in Spring 2025 BSU produced their first annual music festival, featuring vendors and student performers from SoCal colleges. Rapper Trinidad James headlined the festival with a group of other artists, amassing over 350 attendees and over 168,000 views on social media. Chrissy will be continuing in their role at the BSU for the upcoming school year. In addition to BSU, Chrissy was an account executive for Titan Public Relations and a copy editor at Daily Titan. This fall, they will be joining Titan Radio as a News Broadcast Intern and has recently joined Black Voice of LA, a nonprofit news organization in LA, as a freelance writer.
Chrissy already knew they would join ETC before transferring CSUF. She followed the club (and former president, Lina) on Instagram during Spring 2024 to familiarize herself with the type of events the club holds. She quickly became interested in ETC, and after receiving a warm welcome from Lina and the rest of the 24-25 E-Board, knew that this club was for them! Chrissy was encouraged by Lina and former Marketing Director Marlene to apply for the board this year, and she is extremely grateful and excited to serve as the PR Director for ETC this year. Chrissy believes that ETC fosters growth, fun, and friendship, and she is excited to learn from and work with the board this year, and meet some new members!
Chrissy is passionate about news reporting and the music industry, particularly R&B and hip-hop, and can’t wait to see what’s in store for this year! A few of her favorite artists are Michael Jackson, James Blake, Pusha T, and Bktherula. She also loves musicals, and was a theater major before changing to journalism!
